When Erica originally contacted me about photographing her and Shane's destination wedding just south of Cancun Mexico, I was ecstatic! I seriously love to capture love stories, and am obsessed with travel (14 countries and counting), so I was like HELL TO THE YES!
Along with a friend of mine, we traveled down to the Riu Dunamar located just outside of Cancun with the wedding group. It was such a unique wedding experience, as we were able to hang out with the couple and their friends and family in a very informal setting, getting comfortable with each other and having lots of fun in the Mexico heat!
The day of the wedding was HOT! It was a seriously nice change of pace from my usual December weddings in the Canadian deep freeze. The Riu Dunamar was a beautiful resort for a destination wedding. The light was gorgeous throughout the property, and I even managed to snag a super cool dress shot in the stairwell - thanks to my handy assistant! I was able to bounce back and forth between the Bride and Groom easily during the pre-ceremony photos, as they were on the same floor of the hotel.
We headed down to the beach for a late afternoon ceremony. Together in the presence of the ocean, and their closest family and friends Erica + Shane said their wedding vows.
The reception + dance followed, with lots of advice and well wishes for the newlyweds, as well as a lot of kissing!
